Massey Members at mining operations are required to watch the Massey environmental video each year. The video discusses the environmental laws, including: surface mining laws; water pollution laws; solid and hazardous waste laws; and clean air laws.
Massey Energy has an Ethics Hotline where members are encouraged to report any environmental mistakes anonymously.
Massey Members also learn about the company’s environment management system, which consists of: the environmental compliance program, sediment control, dust control, waste handling, fuel and lubricant handling, battery handling, and reporting requirements.
